Parle G, Monaco, Marie, Bourbon, Nice, Krackjack – which 80s kid hasn’t at some point in time found these in their tiffin? The beauty of these biscuits is their consistency of taste and despite the market now being flooded with fancier imported goodies, they have held their ground. If you want to try something new for chai time or tiffin check out some uniquely- flavoured biscuits that are quite well-priced. You won’t regret trying at least one of these.

Britannia

The brand that gave us our beloved Marie, Little Hearts, Maska-chaska and Bourbon has 2 tasty treats up its sleeve.

Biscafe. This super thin, coffee-flavoured, sugar-sprinkled cracker is the perfect snacky snack. Light, crisp and mildly flavoured it’s a lovely little treat for those who don’t like very sweet biscuits.

The second one is the Nutrichoice seed biscuit. It’s delicious! There are enough seeds for it to count and the biscuit has a nice satisfying crunch. It’s heavy because of the seeds, so you can’t really the entire packet in one sitting which is super! If your child doesn’t really like seeds and doesn’t like this, try these biscuits.

Sunfeast

They’ve got quite the range of flavours and the All rounder thin potato biscuits are undeniably versatile. Available in 3 different flavours, they go surprisingly well with cheese and fruit, hummus and yoghurt dips and even cheese dips. Add this to the grocery list and it’ll find a permanent place there.

Mom’s Magic fruit and milk is yet another gem in their offering. There are two more flavours, but this one is quite unique and inexpensive.

Unibic

Their potato biscuits too are similar to Sunfeast’s potato biscuits, and make a good addition to a snack plate, mezze plate or even a charcuterie board.

Their other must-have biscuit is the Shortbread Scotch Finger. Buttery, crumbly and decadent, add this to the occasional list because they do pack a punch – calorie-wise.

Malkist

These come in four flavours – Chocolate, Cheese, Sprinkled Sugar and Cappuccino, which is by far the best. The biscuits have crisp, light layers and aren’t too heavily flavoured. The mildness of it makes it a winner – and a great choice for a quick snack or a last minute tiffin addition.

Orion

The O’Rice crackers are literally as light as air, come individually packaged in a larger pack and have an intriguing sweet and salty taste. They are quite light on the stomach too and could make for a nice little tiffin addition, in case you’re running late. The crackers are individually packed inside – making them convenient to carry around without having to use a container or a bit wasteful when it comes to plastic usage.
