There is so much to watch on Amazon Prime India and if you find yourself spoiled for choice here are a few options totally worth a rewatch.

Amazon Prime India has some fantastic options in shows and movies, be it Hindi or English. If you’ve watched it all or can’t seem to find what to watch while your food cools on your table, take a look at this list. Here are some shows that are worth rewatching from S01E01 and binging till you finish it.

Dexter

Everyone’s favourite morally ambiguous murderous vigilante. Dexter. What’s not to love, except for maybe the series finale, that left us feeling a bit robbed of a great ending to a phenomenal show. Michael C. Hall as the titular character was perfect as the sociopathic forensic lab rat and while sometimes the show failed when it came to building on characters or a sloppy storyline, for most part it kept us hooked. It’s great for a rewatch.

Cold Case

Kathryn Morris as Det. Lilly Rush investigates cold cases from as far back as 50 years. A different concept, with a great cast starring Danny Pino (more like Daddy Pino – have you seen him in Mayans M.C, or Law and Order SVU?) Jeremy Ratchford, Thom Barry, John Finn and Tracie Thoms are a team of sensitive detectives that work on cases that have been long forgotten. Typically opening with the crime accompanied by music from that year and closing with the visual of the victim watching the perp-walk it makes for satisfying binge watching.

Everybody Loves Raymond

Living too close to one’s parents is never a good idea especially if your parents are Frank and Marie Barone. Follow the Barones and others in their orbit for 9 hilarious seasons of familial mayhem. Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle as the elderly, overbearing parents are a hoot. Add to it Brad Garret as the neglected older brother, Ray Romano as the titular Raymond and Patricia Heaton as his long-suffering wife. The Barones make for excellent television. In case you’ve forgotten, wait till the end of each episode for a glimpse of a plate of delicious food.

The Mentalist

Simon Baker as the charlatan psychic, who joins the California Bureau of Investigation as a consultant to catch the man who murdered his family, is absolutely perfect for the role. With his three piece suits and cheeky grin and mop of blonde curls, what’s not to love. Add to it a team of diligent detectives led by Robin Tunney makes for a great game of cat and mouse. It can get a bit disturbing but hang in there – Baker makes it all worth it.

Mad Men

Revisit the 60s with Don Draper and his band of egotistical, amoral, ad men. Jon Hamm’s character makes for a complex and sometimes hateful protagonist and you find yourself drawn to him despite his many flaws and irredeemable actions. The casual sexism can be quite jarring and can be a difficult watch sometimes.

Elementary

Jonny Lee Miller shines as Sherlock Holmes in this modern retelling of the famous detective. It’s modern in every sense of the word. Set in present day New York, Watson is female and Sherlock has far more contemporary problems. Lucy Lui is perfect as Joan Watson and she lends such a calm contrast to Miller’s hyper and talkative Holmes. Their chemistry is crackling in a welcoming, non-sexual way and Holmes’ adoration of Watson literally radiates from him. Big names like John Noble as Morland Holmes (Sherlock’s father), Rhys Ifans as Mycroft Holmes (Sherlock’s brother) and Aidan Quinn as Captain Thomas Gregson round up the cast with John Hill’s outstanding performance as Detective Marcus Bell. It’s also perfect for a drinking game. Take a shot every time Watson rolls her eyes at Holmes.

Two and a half men

Well, you could just stop watching after Charlie Sheen leaves the show, but the post-Sheen seasons does have its moments even though they’re few and far between. Brilliant comic timing from every single cast member and some really well written episodes make this an easy watch. Charlie’s debauchery, Alan’s misery and Evelynn’s disappointment come together to make quite the entertaining series. The series floundered after Sheen left but Ashton Kutcher did bring the hilarity to some extent.

The Widow

Kate Beckinsale looking for her husband in treacherous Congo makes for one determined lady with a heck of a ponytail. IYKYK. Deemed as disappointing by some, the story does get quite intense till it isn’t. It’s not the best of the list but can make for an easy rewatch especially if you can’t decide on anything.

The Office

The series with a hundred memes and a cult following. False. A BRILLIANT series with a hundred memes and a cult following. You don’t even need to start from Episode 1. Just go with anything. Except for maybe Scott’s Tots. Or The Dinner Party. Or Phylis’s Wedding. Better still, do yourself a favour and start with these to truly appreciate what being Michael Scott is.
