S8E07 and S9E12
In the episode “Pam’s replacement”(Cathy Simms is THE WORST) Dwight is reading a newspaper S8E07 where the headline talks about a fee proposed for a city mural. A few episodes later, Pam asks Angela if her husband ‘The Senator’ has heard anything from the city council regarding the mural and then in S9E12, Pam gets a call during Cece’s recital that she got the contract for the mural. I just love how the newspaper reading a whole season before ties nicely into the phone call that interrupts Pam’s taping of Cece’s dance recital and then of course the whole Brian debacle snowballs from there.
S7E13 and S8E13
I didn’t really care for this episode till I decided I wanted to see all the resolutions on the resolution board Pam created. While the others were typical of their characters, Gabe’s was hilarious – Be less squeamish around people’s dogs and babies. Awkward, creepy, needy and clueless, he was the office outcast and the toss up between who was hated more – him or Toby was just not easy to call. Now, Gabe’s resolution isn’t easily visible because the camera doesn’t really pause on it. I sort of just pans through and I had to pause it at just the right moment and really squint to figure it out. But one season on, that resolution comes full circle when Gabe is visibly distressed and uncomfortable when Kevin, Oscar, Erin and he go to see Angela’s new born in the hospital. One does think that Gabe is being his usual awkward self, but that’s not it. He’s just squeamish around Angela’s baby.
